12:30 pm - brief update
to all those who have gently poked & prodded me to post - here it is.
and to any who have wondered what i have been up to - i have missed each & every one of you!!!
i have been extremely remiss about journaling but i intend to amend that!
i tend to feel like i have to have something profound to say or share, thus my hesitation to post.
after 4 1/2 seemingly long years at the same job (not a bad job ... was actually quite good) i will be starting a new one at the beginning of the year.
the commute and all the driving around charlotte nc were driving me crazy and the paperwork was amassing astronomically ... and i abhor paperwork.
so the new job is doing pretty much the same thing with the following additional perks:
1) closer to home
2) much less paperwork
3) no weekend work ... unless i choose to do so.
4) ALL pediatrics - no more occasional adult patients which is a ton more paperwork.
5) small relatively new company with a super-cool boss (very enthusiastic) and potential for great expansion
6) make my own schedule which is even more flexible than previous job.
7) same basic pay rate (pay per visit) with potential to make more if i work more and good potential for pay increases (never got one in 4 1/2 years .. other than across the board cost of living sort of thing.)
A few weeks ago i definitely felt the winds of change blowing ... and with some trepidation i have surrendered to them. I tend to intensely resist change ... but this time i am aspiring to be more accepting of new things that come my way!
Looking forward to seeing all of you in the new year, if not before!

I experienced some concern and disappointment about a week ago at an event where someone told me that "people" find me aloof and unapproachable. My disheartenment was because that was in direct conflict with my one personal goal for the reign ... which was that people would consider me an approachable queen ... a queen of the people, if you will.
Now, I am still very hopeful because the reign is still very young and there is about 4 months in which I can hopefully change that perception. To that end I have a request and a question ...
REQUEST: If you know me, I ask that you help to squash this perception by informing anyone that you here making comments like these, that i am not like that, but that rather I am very shy and introverted. I do find it somewhat hard to approach people and start a conversation, and I realize that many people suffer the same malady. I have tried to be more present and available at events so that those that choose to approach me for whatever reason may do so. And I would love more more people to do so, whether it be just to say hello, to make a request of the Queen, to inform me of a pertinent situation, or to seek advice or counsel.
QUESTION: Do you know of a way or have any advice for me as to how I can best address this personal issue/hurdle? Any help, information or input would be greatly appreciated and given due consideration!
